POM is a high‑crystallinity engineering plastic, commonly nicknamed “steel‑like plastic”. Core features: excellent mechanical properties with high rigidity and high strength. It is unrivaled among engineering plastics in wear resistance and fatigue resistance. It exhibits favorable self‑lubricity and low friction coefficient (dry friction against steel ＜0.2), supporting long‑term operation under oil‑free conditions. It achieves superior dimensional stability with ultra‑low water absorption (＜0.25%), and is resistant to deformation in humid environments. It also delivers strong resilience with metal‑like spring properties. Main limitations: poor thermal stability and easy decomposition at high temperature, difficult bonding and printing, and average weather resistance.
